Watermelon Card for Watermelon Day!

We have a free printable watermelon template you can use to make this craft too! Or you can simply follow the steps and make it on your own.

This easy to make watermelon craft only requires colored paper! Use our free template at the bottom of the post, or make it on your own!

Follow the instructions below to turn it into a card and you can write “You’re one in a melon!” inside. Or you can even follow the same design and paint it on a paper plate!

Supplies Needed to Make a Watermelon Craft Card – Different colored cardstock – we used black, white, green, a lighter green and red. Note: For the largest piece of paper – you will need a 12×12 size of the dark green paper to fit the template provided. Otherwise, you can use the next smallest semi-circle and make that the largest and work your way down from there. Black Marker – Large Googly Eyes Glue – Regular glue or a glue stick. However, since this is mostly all paper – I like to use a glue stick for this project since it’s less messy. 4. Fold over a piece of white cardstock.

Trace the next largest semi-circle shape on white cardstock. Cut it out and then glue inside the card. This step is optional but will make it easier to read your message on the white paper. 5. Trace the next smallest semi-circle shape (the same you used for the white) on a lighter green paper. Cut it out.

6. Trace the smallest semi-circle shape on red paper and cut it out.

Glue this to the light green paper. Glue the light green and red paper on top of the dark green paper card. 7. Use the seed template or draw your own. Use the template to trace on black paper and glue to the card.

8. Make 9 black seeds. Glue them to the red semi-circle edge.

9. Glue on 2 large googly eyes.

10. Draw a smile on with a black marker. 11. Write your message inside the card. We love the cute message, ” You’re One in a Melon!”. Your card is now done! This is such a cute summer craft and makes a perfect birthday card too! You can even make it for a Birthday Card!
